Innovations

Innovation is about converting ideas into new or improved products, processes and services. It is nothing but taking inventions to marketplace by translating scientific knowledge into products, services and offerings for economic growth and social development.

The Honourable Prime Minister of India has declared decade 2010-20 as the ‘Decade of Innovation’, to unleash the creative potential of every Indian. For India to emerge as a global innovation hub, the youth of our country, especially in higher education institutions (HEIs) need to play a crucial role to create a sustainable innovation ecosystem.

Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India has established ‘MHRD’s Innovation Cell (MIC)’ to foster the culture of Innovation amongst all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), so the ideas developed by the students can be transformed into prototypes and products. MIC has created several ‘Institution’s Innovation Council (IICs)’ across selected HEIs to promote innovation in the Institution through multitudinous modes leading to an innovation promotion eco-system in the campuses.

We closely work with the Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in India to support students in Smart India Hackathon (SIH), Innovation Contests/Competitions and other Tech Challenges. Some of them are listed in our website.
